Fitzgerald 8" 'Rocket Fan' |
|
Circa 1947 |
|
·
The Fitzgerald Co. came out with
this fan in the late 1940’s.
The look was very futuristic,
and makes me think of toy Ray
Guns and Buck Rogers. The 8”
size not easy to come by
especially in decent original
condition. I was lucky to find
this one in 2008 for a really
great price but best of all the
condition is excellent. If you
look at the 10” version you will
notice they used the same base
and motor and just put a smaller
blade and cage. Makes the
smaller model appear as an
afterthought. |

Fitzgerald 10" 'Rocket Fan' |

These 10
oscillating fans were sold in
the late 1940’s and are one of
the last fans made of fair
quality. This fan has three
speeds and oscillates, whereas
the 8” model is a single speed
stationary. This one is in
really great original condition
and runs really well.
Unfortunately, this can’t be
said about many. |
