Edgar Ward 'Zephyr' 22" Table Fan Circulator Designed by R. Budlong
Circa 1937
This fan is certainly one of the finest examples of ‘Industrial’ or ‘Streamline’ design.  Designed by accomplished freelance designer Robert Budlong in 1937 for Edgar Ward,  this fans size is mammoth for what appears to be a desk or table fan with a blade measuring 22” and weighing nearly 70 pounds.   In addition to being an incredibly beautiful machine it is also quite rare.  I am aware of only three more known, one of which is part of the finest collection of ‘streamline’  designed artifacts in the world and was exhibited in some of the finest museums in North America in 2006.
