Diehl Mfg. Co. 9"
Ornate Base DC Fan |
|
Circa 1906 |
|
9” ornate base DC
fan one of only a few examples
of this great fan in the small
9” size. In addition, the
original condition is stellar
making it one of my favorite
fans in my collection. |

Diehl Mfg. Co.
12" Ornate Base DC Fan (tagged GEC Magnet) |
|
Circa 1907 |
|
This Ornate base
DC 12” Diehl Fan was rebadged
and sold by GEC Ltd. Of The UK.
A really nice fan with one of my
favorite logos on the badge.
Interestingly, if you notice the
catalog image from GEC in this
gallery, you will see this
particular fan on a Shedd Vane
Table. Yes, that’s right, mine
is also sitting on my Shedd Vane
Table. Pretty lucky to have
them together after all these
years. |

Diehl Mfg. Co. 16"
Oscillating Fan Wood-grain
Finish |
|
Circa 1925 |
|
When I came
across this fan on eBay several
years ago, I couldn’t believe my
eyes. In fact, I had to ask a
friend to take a look to see if
he also believed the finish to
be original and he stongly
agreed. When the auction ended,
I was the high bidder for $200
and I was shocked as I believed
it to much more valuable. I
later learned most of the
collectors I know had never even
noticed the fan so I was indeed
lucky. When I received the fan
and carefully cleaned the paint,
I was simply amazed at the
quality of the ‘faux bois’
paint from the mid 1920’s.
This is another of my all-time
favorite fans in my collection. |

Diehl Mfg. Co. 8" Oscillating Fan w/ ‘faux’ copper-oxide finish |
|
Circa 1925 |
|
This is a really clean oscillating fan by Diehl which appears to be from the same time as the Wood grain 16” from my collection. It also has an interesting finish which is more of a mottled paint giving it a slight copper oxide like appearance. Also, it features the same rather unique oscillating mechanism as the 16” model, albeit smaller. This is the first model like it I have seen. |
